Parents:
Three Oaks Senior High School will be hosting the Canadian Student Leadership Conference (CSLC) from September 30 – October 4, 2008. This is the first time this conference has been hosted by our province, and we are extremely proud to showcase the school, our community and PEI. Parents can obtain more information about the conference by going to the website:
www.cslc2008.com.
During the above dates, please note that regular classes are not in session at the high school. The three teaching days will be made up in the following manner: November 28th will be a school day and not a Professional Development Day as had originally been planned. It will be Day 1 on our school calendar. We are also reducing the number of assemblies and increasing contact time with students to that we can cover all course material. October 3rd is a professional development day that is set in accordance the PEI Department of Education and Early Childhood Development for all Island schools, so even without the conference there would have been no school on that day.
During the conference time, we require supervision in the school and at various conference sites from 8:00 a.m. to late in the evening, as well as on Saturday and Sunday. As a result, our teaching staff will be on a flex schedule. You can reach them through the regular method of contact, e-mail or message machine.
We thank the Western School Board and the PEI Department of Education and Early Childhood Development for making this conference a reality for our school. We also thank you, the parents, for supporting this endeavour, especially those who are billeting and providing donations of time and materials. Our opening ceremony is at Credit Union Place on Tuesday, September 30th from 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
